Silhouette™ for Oracle E-Business Suite Financials Applications Offered
Safeguarding Sensitive Information
MINNEAPOLIS – March 31, 2008 – Silhouette™, an enterprise class data scrambling tool created for Oracle Human Resources and Payroll Applications, is now available for Oracle Payables and Oracle Receivables. Silhouette™ now protects sensitive financial information, such as bank account numbers and credit card data, from unauthorized access in all non-production databases. Internal audits have discovered that once the production data is cloned to create new environments it leaves the company at risk of a security breach. Many corporations’ Governance Risk and Compliance programs mandate protection of this confidential data as it helps to adhere to PCI, GLBA, and other data privacy regulations.
Silhouette™ utilizes a unique method to protect sensitive data. Using Oracle’s metadata and built-in functions, Silhouette™ conceals the Payables and Receivables private data. Silhouette™ identifies 50+ sensitive fields recommended for scrambling in the AP and AR modules. These fields are designated as defaults in the application allowing out of the box scrambling execution. In addition, Silhouette™ is configurable and allows the user to tailor the scramble to the needs of their company without coding.
Most importantly, Silhouette™ can ensure that referential integrity of the data is maintained throughout the application after the scrambling process. Lastly, in order to supply information for future decision making, a summary is provided containing statistics and error reports so users can double check the process.
